Pathé is an Agricultural Engineer by training and Climate and Environment Expert. He has over 18 years’ experience in the field of agriculture, green finance & agri value chains development, environment, climate change and sustainable natural resource management, food systems and nutrition security, rural development and poverty reduction; rural infrastructure development; safeguards and de-risking public and private sector investments in sustainable agriculture. In his professional career, he has occupied various technical, managerial and leadership role both at local, country, regional and global level, working across four regions in the World (Africa, South America, Central Asia and Europe). Prior to joining AGRF, Pathé was the Lead Regional Environment, Climate Specialist for West and Central Africa regional based in Rome and later in Abidjan. He also acted as Director of the IFAD Abidjan sub regional Office, Country Director Cote d’Ivoire, Niger and Liberia. Before joining IFAD, Pathe was Policy Specialist on sustainable development with UNDP Global Policy Centre on Sustainable Development based Rio de Janeiro (Brazil). He previously worked with both UNDP and UNEP as Regional Program Advisor based in Nairobi (Kenya), providing technical assistance to African Countries on mainstreaming poverty, environment and gender objectives into national development and investment frameworks. Before that, he served as Program Officer and acting Team leader with UNDP Country Office in Mauritania. Pathé’s other previous positions outside the UN include food security program and sub office manager in Afghanistan, consultant with European Union in France and Agricultural Researcher at the Senegalese Agricultural Research Institute. He holds an MSc and post-graduate degree in Rural Societies, Territories, Sustainable Development and Natural Resources Management from Institut Agronomique Mediterraneen de Montpellier, France; a MSc on Agricultural Engineering from Ecole Nationale d’Agriculture de Meknes (Morocco); on Agribusiness, entrepreneurship and Gender from the Centre for International Agricultural Development Cooperation (Israel).

Arne Cartridge is a lead strategist and practitioner in developing public-private partnerships for a sustainable development. He is currently Senior Adviser and Head of Global Initiatives at Yara International. He previously held positions as the Executive Director of Grow Africa, Senior Director at the World Economic Forum, Executive Vice President with Yara International ASA, and has held senior management positions with Telenor, Gazette, and Digital Equipment Corp. Mr. Cartridge is the initiator of the African Green Revolution Forum and has served as the Chairman of the Board for the humanitarian organization CARE Norway, been on the board of CARE International and serves on the board of the Global Fairness Initiative.

Adesuwa Ifedi serves as Africa’s Senior Vice President for Heifer International. A development and fundraising expert, she has developed partnerships that pulled together millions of dollars to support transformational programs in underserved communities in Africa. She initiated and led the largest technology-enabled education transformation program in Nigeria which is currently serving over 800,000 at-risk children in public schools. She has an MBA from Lagos Business School and a Postgraduate in Entrepreneurship from Boston University.

She has experience in different industries including agriculture, information technology, fast-moving consumer goods and telecommunications.

Bonolo is the MD and Co-founder of Maungo Craft. She has 9 nine years of experience in HR focusing on Personal Growth and Empowerment Training. She holds a B.A in Communication Science from the University of South Africa. She is currently studying for her Masters of Business Creation at the David Eccles School of Business, at the University of Utah. Bonolo is a UN Food Systems Champion and together with her business partner, their goal is to build a sustainable and impactful business that relooks food systems, creates jobs and encourages the growth of a sustainable industry that celebrates the use of indigenous foods.

Ishmael Sunga has more than 30 years of experience, mainly in the development sector. Prior to his current position as head of a regional farmers’ organization for southern Africa, he previously worked in various capacities for research and academic institutions, and for international development agencies.

Jane Lowicki-Zucca serves as Senior Youth Advisor within USAID’s Bureau for Resilience and Food Security. She previously served as Program Director with GOAL Uganda, leading the Driving Youth-led New Agribusiness and Microenterprise in Northern Uganda (DYNAMIC) program. She earned her BA in Government, with concentrations in International Relations and Women’s Studies from Cornell University and holds an MPA in Public and Non-profit Management and Policy, with a specialization in International Public Policy from New York University.

Nele joined Bayer in 2020. Before joining the global Stakeholder Affairs and Strategic Partnerships team at global Bayer CropScience, she led NGO Engagement for the German Corporate Public Affairs team with a focus on agricultural, industry and innovation policy. Nele is currently responsible for Bayer Crop Science’s next generational engagement in agriculture-related stakeholder and policy spheres. Prior to Bayer, Nele was a board member and head of the Berlin office for a science communications consultancy focused on agriculture and plant sciences. She was responsible for business development, strategy, networks, and political outreach. She holds degrees in Hispanic Studies, Philosophy, and International Relations and an MBA in Public Affairs and Leadership. She embraces the spirit of collaboration, networking, innovation and sustainability.

Simon Winter is the Executive Director of the Syngenta Foundation. He previously he served as the Senior Vice President, Development, of TechnoServe in Washington, D.C. Prior to that, he worked as an economic planner for the Botswana government, and a development consultant in Southern Africa. He currently chairs the Steering Committee of the Farm to Market Alliance and the board of ACRE Africa. Simon holds a Ph.D. in economics from the School of Oriental and African Studies, University of London, 1998.

Vanessa is a proven leader with strong private sector, investment facilitation and project management experience with 25 years of progressive experience in 42 countries integrating over twelve agricultural and consumer goods value chains into regional and global markets. Vanessa most recently served as Director of Strategic Partnerships for DAI. Previously, she worked in West Africa as the Export Business Development Director, Trade and Investment Director, and ultimately the Chief of Party (Regional Director) on the USAID West Africa Trade Hub program, Chief of Party in Ethiopia on the USAID flagship Agricultural Growth Program–Agribusiness and Market Development Program, and Chief of Party of the USAID Southern Africa Trade and Investment Hub. She contributed to the founding of three pan-African nongovernmental organizations, including the African Cashew Alliance, Borderless Alliance, and Global Shea Alliance, as well as initiating the Women in Agribusiness Leadership Network in Ethiopia and has brokered partnerships with fortune 500 companies. She holds an executive MBA from INSEAD.
